Emily Ann Hoffman

Emily Ann Hoffman is not only a painter, but also a film director based in Brooklyn, New York. Her films have screened at Sundance, SXSW, and Slamdance, and she has been awarded fellowships with the New York Film Festival Artist Academy, the Sundance Institute, and the Jacob Burns Film Center. As a painter, she has been featured in publications such as Architectural Digest, Variety, and It's Nice That.

Emily’s filmmaking background brings to light a sense of dynamic movement and personality in her abstract landscape paintings. Her dynamic landscapes are articulated through expressiveness of shapes, colors and patterns that intertwine to come alive with passion. When gazing into her work, we are swept away by her ability to transport us to alternate realities and bring us home all at the same time. Emily’s interpretation of natural surroundings is like a perfectly choreographed love scene, where every part is co-existing harmoniously.
