September Art Inspiration
Welcome to September. The summer came and went with its characteristic sense of urgency, rushing as it does each year toward the fall. This season felt different though; for many it represented a fresh breath of air and unbridled joy after a claustrophobic year spent trapped indoors, away from the spontaneous pleasures of the outside world. With the vaccine rolled out across the US, this summer was in many ways a celebration of everyday life experienced alongside friends and strangers. The beautiful moments felt more beautiful and even mundane tasks were laced with a little extra magic.
As we head into an uncharted autumn, we’re channeling the energy of these warmer months into a concentrated pursuit of purpose. Rather than strive toward a utopia or resign ourselves to dystopia, we’re craving the kind of balance that can only be achieved through patient focus and concerted effort. This is a time of ushering positive change steadily forward with care, consistency, and commitment to a better world for everyone. After a Dionysian summer, it will be through the pursuit of personal and societal progress that we will find renewed purpose.
Inspired by this cultural context, we’ve curated a collection of bold artworks that represent the momentum of the moment. The visuals play with a monochromatic palette, sharp lines, and amorphous figures, drawn together to create a constructive balance through the juxtaposition of forms and shades. The works hover between figurative and abstract, leaving enough room for each individual to find in the art a version of themselves, their world, their dreams for the future.
